Images of Vietnamese Women in Film

The Vietnamese Women’s Museum (VWM) is hosting a series of events including: a ceremony to launch the VWM’s new website, an object donation ceremony and an exhibition entitled “Images of Vietnamese Women in Film”.
The exhibition display includes 28 movie posters and 120 images from 131 well known Vietnamese movies from 1959 to date. The exhibition showcases Vietnamese women’s major contribution during wartime and during the reconstruction era of Vietnam. The faithful and brave women who fought against the invaders are shown through characters such as Mrs. Hoai in “Sharing One River”, Ms. Diu in “Days and Nights in the 17th Parallel” and Ms. Duyen in “When Does October Come?”
In conjunction with the exhibition, the museum is also hosting a discussion “Dialogue with Actresses” on 12 Mar, 9 am. At this event students and guests will have an opportunity to talk with famous Vietnamese actresses including Tra Giang, Nguyen Quy, Bach Diep, Nhu Quynh, Minh Chau, Thu An, Hai Ninh, Dang Nhat Minh, Tran Phuong and Tran Luan Kim.
