Talk on History “The Disruptions in Vietnamese Culture”

Starting June 2014, manzi will host a monthly series of talk focusing on on-going and past historical aspects of Vietnam. The series will be led by culture researcher Tran Quang Duc – author of ‘Ngan nam ao mu’, a study of Vietnamese costumes from 1009-1945 – with the participation of well-known historians and researchers of Hanoi.
Entitled ‘The disruptions in Vietnamese culture’, the first talk asks if there is such a thing as a pure and unique culture in Vietnam, a country that has been affected and disrupted by so many other cultural influences and languages brought about by both civil wars and foreign invaders.
Language: Please note that the talk will be conducted in Vietnamese only.
Entrance fee: 50,000 VND. All money goes towards supporting the organizing of events at manzi
