”Elegant Concert” by Aurora String Quartet

From Heritage Space:
The two works of Ludwig van Beethoven and Felix Mendelssohn in the Classical period and Romantic period will be performed by Aurora string quartet at “Elegant Concert”, which takes place at 8PM, 14th May 2016 at Heritage Space (6 Nguyen Hoang, My Dinh).
Chamber music concert is one of the musical activities of Aurora string quartet to conserve and maintain classical music. Violinist Nguyen My Huong, violinist Nguyen Cong Thang, violinist Nguyen Thu Binh and cellist Nguyen Hong Anh will introduce to the String quartet No. 10 in E flat major – “Harp”, Opus 74 and String quartet in A minor Opus 13 by Ludwig van Beethoven and Felix Mendelssohn. These works depict the life, the dream of people and devote to beauty.
The concert has two parts:

The artists of Aurora string quartet:
Violinist Nguyen My Huong
Born into a musical family, Nguyen My Huong started learning to play the violin at the age of 3. After finishing her Bachelor and Master’s degrees at the Vietnam National Academy of Music under the guidance of Professor Ngo Van Thanh, Nguyen My Huong took an advanced course at University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria with Professor Thomas Zehetmair.
Nguyen My Huong was a member of the Asian Youth Orchestra and PMF Orchestra, she had participated in many training courses and exchange programs of symphony orchestras in Japan, China, Germany, Austria, the United States… In addition, she was invited to be the Chief violinist performing at Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra, chief violinist 2 at Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra; member of Hanoi Ensemble, Aurora string quartet, Trinity piano trio… Currently Nguyen My Huong teaches at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
Nguyen My Huong’s achievements: Special prize in “Contest for young talents” in Ho Chi Minh City in 1990; Award at “Autumn National Music Competition 2” in 1991.
Violinist Nguyen Cong Thang
Violinist Nguyen Cong Thang was respected for his meticulous techniques and inspiring melodies. He obtained a Master degree in Violin performance the Vietnam National Academy of Music under the guidance of Professor Ngo Van Thanh. Later, he attended the course Improving Violin Performing Arts at Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with Professor Michael Ma and Master Classes with famous violinists of the world such as Isac Stern, Josehp Silverstern…
Cong Thang has had many successful solo performances with orchestras at the Concert Hall- Vietnam National Academy of Music and Hanoi Opera House, performed with the orchestra of Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in countries like: Austria, Spain, France, Italy, UK, Thailand.
In 2003 Nguyen Cong Thang was an official violin faculty of the College of Music, Mahidol University, Campus For General Public, Thailand and the Chief Violinist II of Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra; lectured and staged performances, annual violin festivals for students and had many successful performances at Mahidol University and the Thailand Cultural Center. Nguyen Cong Thang teaches and is Vice-Dean of String Department, Vietnam National Academy of Music.
Nguyen Cong Thang’s achievements: Violin First Prize at Autumn National Music Competition, 1990, the award “Best performance of Vietnamese works” Chamber Concert group at Autumn National Music Competition, 1993, Certificate of Improving Violin Performing Arts, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
Violinist Nguyen Thu Binh
Nguyen Thu Binh obtained Master degree of Performing Arts with distinction at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, advanced professional training in the Republic of Austria and Japan. She won the second prize in Chamber Symphony at the contest Autumn National Music Competition.
Nguyen Thu Binh participated in many performances at the Asian Youth Orchestra, the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, Southeast Asian- Japan Orchestra, Cisma Orchestra, China. She plays proficiently the two instruments violin, viola and is currently lecturer of String Department, Vietnam National Academy of Music.
Cellist Nguyen Hong Anh
Nguyen Hong Anh graduated Cello Department at the Vietnam National Academy of Music under the guidance of Professor Hoang Duong; participated in advanced course at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar (Germany) with Professor Erichson and Professor Brunhard Böhme.
She was a member of the Asian Youth Orchestra; CISMA Orchestra, Guangdong (China), Hanoi Ensemble, Aurora string quartet and Trinity trio. Currently, she teaches at the Vietnam National Academy of Music and is the Chief cellist of Hanoi Symphony Orchestra.
