You are invited to the discussion “The temple of forgotten divinities. A history between the sea and the mountains” with our guest speakers:
– Andrew Hardy, research director of l’École française d’Extrême-Orient (EFEO).
– Dao The Duc, Institute of Cultural Studies – Vietnam Academy of Social Studies.
– Nguyen Tien Dong, Institute of Archeology – Vietnam Academy of Social Studies.
There is a temple famous for its annual festivals, but local people don’t know that Buddha was worshiped here in the XIX century, nor do they know about the imperial officers that have become the city gods. Here in the middle of Vietnam, near Quang Ngai, what’s forgotten is explained by history and the history is illuminated by geography.
