The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Hanoi would be organizing a series of Indian festival celebrations titled “Festival of India”, under this initiative, the Ganesha Festival 2018 would be the first festival to be celebrated at the Center. More events including Holi, Diwali, Christmas, Gurpurab and Buddha Purnima will be celebrated.

Ganesha, the Lord of Knowledge, the God of Auspicious Beginnings, Remover of all Obstacles is one of the most widely worshipped deities in India. Ganesha is an iconic deity who is/was worshipped across continents and oceans, including in South East Asia. The Ganesha of Da Nang is a vital joint civilizational link between India and Vietnam. Across all regional and language boundaries, the annual Ganesha Chaturthi Festival celebrated with singing, chanting, traditional, modern music and the ceremonial immersion of Ganesha idols made of mud in water bodies. Traditional food, wearing of traditional clothes, visiting and celebrating with family and friends is an integral part of this magnificent cultural event.
